a good hotel with everything you need
Very pleased with my stay at Good Hotel; great service, clean room, all the services I need and handy for the BART (local subway). Slightly less glamourous area in San Fran but well located for Union Square and Market St. Not many restaurants nearby but the Good Pizza in the hotel and Custom Burger opposite both serve good, if unimaginative, food. Would visit again.

It was a cute little place
The hotel was nice but the neighborhood was kinda bad, try not to walk @ on your own to many bums!

The Price is right!
Location, location, location! Compact, clean, neat. We were able to walk to all the downtown areas. We did get a new insight into life in San Francisco. Friendly and helpful staff. As school teachers, we were quite pleased with our accommodations. The room had both an iron and a hair dryer for those who need them. Its compactness and "greenness" were satisfying.

Cute and Comfy!
My boy friend and I took this trip to San Francisco so we could see the city for our first time! This hotel really helped us do it, the decor was modern and portrayed the personality of the city perfectly! Our room was on the smallish side although we certanly didn’t pay a price that would have recquired a larger room! What I thought was the most unique was the photobooth when you walked in the hotel, this gave guests a chance to take fun quirky pictures for free and pin them up around the lobby on the corkboard walls! So cute, loved the hotel and so should you!
Traveler's tip
Our Blue Shuttle Bus forgot us on the way back to our hotel causing us to almost be late, if possible I would pick another form of transportation, the staff for that company was rude and unprofessional! Don’t let them ruin your trip too!

Satisfactory for a place to stay but spartan without comfort extras
Renovated older hotel as typical in the area, clean, small space, adequate. Air temperature not controllable except for window or ceiling fan. No light by bed nor at limited work space. Neighborhood not the best for walking after hours. Close to subway and 5 to 6 long blocks from cable car. I did not use any services.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Close to subway if taking BART from airports. Pizza shop in hotel and Subway Subs across street. 4 to 6 long blocks from convention area and more tourist areas (shopping and cablecar start)or about 15+ minute walk at a reasonable pace. Parking available. WiFi available for a fee. Reasonable price.

Would Definitely Return
This was my first trip to San Francisco, and I really liked the Good Hotel. The area left a little to be desired (I couldn’t walk a block without being harassed by homeless men), but otherwise it was pretty great. The room was pretty clean and organized, and I love love LOVED the Lather products in the shower’s dispensers. The staff were on the whole friendly, and I took full advantage of the free photo booth in the lobby; if you go, you’ll see four strips of me and my friend! It’s close to a lot of things, mainly the Mezzanine, a tiny dive venue which was the whole purpose of my visit. I had a good time, and I would certainly choose the Good Hotel again.

Do Not Stay Here
Room was the size of a closet, location is pretty seedy, not at all a taste of San Francisco. Not worth how inexpensive it is, stay in North Beach or someplace else in San Fran....

Is this a college dorm?
I did not like the recent remodle of this hotel. I found the decore tacky and cheep. I felt like I was in a collage dorm. My room was not as clean as is the standard. It was not well maintained. I would rather have stayed in a youth hostel, at least then I would have felt good about getting a good deal.

Not a bad little place.
Hotel had recently had a remodel and name change. All items in the room were new (beds, LCD TV, dresser), so, no complaints there. Room was a very good size for 2 people (on a previous trip to another hotel in San Francisco the room was very tiny.) A small fold-down shelf with pen and paper was a good place to set up a laptop (although you had to stand to use it). Small table, although there were absolutely NO chairs in the room which was kinda odd. Don’t know if all rooms were that way. If you wanted to sit, it had to be on the bed. Since it was totally remodeled in a modern theme, it didn’t have the charm of some other older San Francisco hotels, so, if you’re looking for charm this place isn’t it. Parking was across the street and down a little -- valet parking -- priced reasonably for a city. Just made it a bit inconvenient unpacking and packing the car. I’d stay again.

Looking forward to my next S.F. trip.
The Good Hotel was a great and inexpensive place to stay in S.F. The location was walking distance to the Union Sq., which was our starting point daily.

Not to be recommended
It was the mess all the night, a lot of people was making noise, and we didn’t slept at all... :( We ask for a total refund of or money, and we are still waiting... Very very Hungry...

Good enough for a budget traveller
It’s quite close to the BART civic centre station. The room is clean and tidy, but a little bit old. The street outside the hotel is clean and quiet at night. Only few vehicles pass the street in front of the hotel. If you are used to live in city, you can tolerate that level of street noise at night. I feel good at this price level.

Great place to stay for the price
very nice clean and i will say clean again, i was very impressed with how clean the room and the bathroom was. great location and place to stay at for a weekend trip. housekeeping came and changed the bed vacuumed etc.. every morning, staff was very nice and helpfull, i do have to say this was the best hotel i’ve stayd at in san francisco for this price. big beds tv and all that good stuff
only problem with the location is that its not for families at night, there were some very loud and funky looking people but than again we did not go out during the night ( 1yr old and a 16 yr old w/me) i would still recommend them. kids dont need to be out late anyways :) parking is accross the street $15 a day.

NICE HOTEL
is an old hotel, but renovated, the rooms are confortable and clean, is near the main points of down town. the only bad thing is that the neiborhood is no so good a lot of homeless people arround, good price

Great Stay
Pro: Great location and price. Room with 2 beds was spacious and comfortable. Staff was prompt, helpful, and friendly. Soma pizza, which is attached to the hotel, is good pizza for a good price. Con: Not as close to the wharf as Expedia had stated, (actually about 2+ miles).
